A New Day

So many people were lost in the recent earthquakes. A tragedy that left everyone perplexed and sad. This sonnet is dedicated to everyone affected by any disaster that made them feel helpless. Even the worst of situations have something good to show. People may not realize it in a go, but in the long run they do. Let us not forget that no matter how bad a day is for us, it will eventually end giving away to a new sunrise.

A New Day

So many gone, they were with us yesterday,

It feels like a dream; no words to express,
Roads; buildings; all caved in as people say,
But they were greater than stones, now far less;
Disaster strikes from your source of comfort,
Swiping away all that you love: In a moment.
Left astray in this fray; all hope is hurt,
While the evil God laughs watching you torment.
But all bad times have a silver lining,
They do eventually fade away;
Yes, for today the sun has stopped shining,
But the night will soon give in to new day.
Drench all the world in your sorrow today,
But frown not tomorrow as down you lay.
