Three Pints Down
"There is only one success - to be able to live your life your own way."
- Christopher Morley.
We encounter different opinions from different people throughout our life. Some for better, some for worse. It is good to hear everyone, but best to do what you want, no matter what it is. You cannot live someone else's way, every individual is different and capable of making his own decision. Not all the allegations we have been facing since childhood about life are true, given by people who have experienced them. Those people are not 'You'. Do what you love, create your own rules: for life is far beyond what you think is the edge. But also know your actions before you do them.
Three Pints Down
Every minute
the world rots,
Producing
imbeciles in lots,
Who are enough
hollow,
To another
idiot follow,
As their
actions He allegedly jots.
With this
madness holding tight,
You fail to
distinguish wrong and right,
But outside you
sometime see,
And Realize '
It's all about me',
So you stand
strong in the fight.
In your misery
you are offered bland ale,
Three pints
down: your ship sets sail,
The world
suddenly becomes gay,
Amidst which
afloat you lay,
Knowing you've
found the Holy Grail.
You bunny hop
down the endless street,
Every
acquaintance you merrily greet,
Monstrous
thoughts no longer prickle,
For no sane
reasons you giggle,
As you offer
beggars a treat.
Down the street
you meet an old friend,
For reasons
similar he has followed your trend,
Hesitation no
longer binds you:
So what they
say indeed is true;
Pouring your
mind out, your fears you transcend.
Staring at the
Pepsi, you confess your love for coke,
You feel like
the superhuman that cannot choke.
Your brain has
increased ten folds,
A whole new
world with your fingers can you mold.
And not a drop
of worry inside you soak.
The old friend
decides to tag along,
Both toddle
down chanting merry songs,
Groups of
hypocrites you wish to fight,
To enlighten
the world with what is right,
As you decide lunatics need to pay for their wrongs.
But 'I am
hungry' your stomach is to say,
So you decide
to rescue the world some other day,
Your delightful
world many consider a tramp,
For dubious
reasons onto you they clamp,
And from this
heaven ask you to stay away.
Neither listen
to the young nor the wise,
Life is without
restrictions-this you ought to realize.
A limitless
self is what you should be,
Never to frown
over social debris,
Only then above
others will you rise.
